Motherlode is one of the few methods that gets faster as you level, so a single flat rate is wrong for any real span. This works it out band by band — then shows what the same hours are worth if a bot does them instead.
Both the experience and the ore value rise with your Mining level. These are the bands the calculator walks — tap a card to pin a single rate instead.
30 Mining to enter, not boostable. 57 Mining plus 100 golden nuggets for the upper level, also not boostable.
Every figure above assumes you are at the keyboard for all of it. Motherlode is the most AFK method in Mining and still nobody finishes it, because the sack fills, the struts break and the hopper needs feeding — small interruptions that end a session the moment you look away.
Botting Hub plays the official game client with nothing injected or hooked, driving it with AI vision and simulated input. It repairs the struts, clears the sack and collects every nugget. Below is what the same hours earn unattended.
Old School RuneScape uses a fixed experience curve — each level needs roughly 10% more XP than the last. That is why level 92 is the halfway point to 99: 6,517,253 XP of the 13,034,431 needed.
Why band by band. Motherlode pays more experience and more ore the higher your Mining level, so applying one rate across seventy levels is simply wrong. The calculator takes the rate for the band you are currently in, runs until the next band starts, and adds the segments together. The profit half does the same thing forward in time — a bot that levels up during the month gets faster, which is why the projected finishing level is shown.
On the XP figures. The wiki gives four points: 13,000 XP an hour at level 30, 33,000 at 50, 48,000 at 70 and 64,000 at 99, assuming the upper level, a dragon pickaxe from 61, the prospector outfit and the super hopper. The bands at 40, 80 and 90 are interpolated between those anchors rather than measured, and are labelled as such on the cards.
On the gates. 30 Mining to mine here at all and 57 Mining for the upper level, neither boostable, plus 100 golden nuggets as a one-time payment for the upper floor. Nuggets are untradeable, so they never appear as GP — they go straight back into upgrades.
About 240 hours from level 30, because the rate climbs as you go — roughly 13,000 XP an hour at 30, 33,000 at 50, 48,000 at 70 and 64,000 at 99. Working it out at a single flat rate is the most common way people get this badly wrong.
30 Mining to mine there at all, and it is not boostable. The upper level needs 57 Mining — also not boostable — plus a one-time payment of 100 golden nuggets. That requirement used to be 72 and was lowered.
Yes, and as early as you can. It is the single biggest rate increase available here, and the 100 nuggets pay for themselves quickly. Collect them on the lower level first — the script picks up every nugget it finds.
Modestly, and only at high level. At 99 the ore is worth around 420,000 GP an hour; at 30 it is closer to 30,000. It is a levelling method that happens to pay something, not a money maker — the nuggets mostly go back into the upper level, the prospector outfit and the coal bag.
13,034,431 XP from level 1. Level 92 is 6,517,253 — the halfway point in XP, not level 50.
A great deal. A dragon pickaxe from level 61 swings noticeably more often, which is why 61 is a rate step in its own right. Use the best pickaxe your level allows.
Unlocking the upper level (100 nuggets), the prospector outfit, the coal bag and the other shop upgrades. They are not tradeable, so they only ever go back into making the method faster.
Because the water wheel breaks constantly and everything stops until it is fixed. That is the single most common reason a manual Motherlode session quietly stops producing — you look away, a strut goes, and the next twenty minutes are wasted.
The official game client, driven by AI vision with nothing injected. Motherlode AI mines, deposits, repairs the struts and clears the sack on loop — one payment, kept for life.
